The University of Alberta would like to invite you to participate in the open division of the University of Alberta Programming Contest 2024.

The contest starts on March 16 at 11am Mountain Time.

The open division will be held on Kattis at uapc24.kattis.com. There is a button on that site allowing you to join the contest — there is no need to register ahead of time.

The format for teams competing in person is a team-of-<=3 four-hour contest with one computer. While we encourage those participating in the open division to replicate these conditions as closely as possible (since this is what the contest was designed for), we recognize this may not be possible or wanted for some. Teams/individuals competing in the open division are not bound by the same rules as those competing in-person. Note that there are no prizes for the open division.

The difficulty of the contest will be comparable to some of the easier NA ICPC regionals such as rocky mountain regional. To get a better idea of the expected difficulty, you can view the problems from last year.

We hope you participate in and enjoy the contest :)

The list of teams qualified for the 2024 North America Championship has been posted here. So far, there are 48 teams there. I expect that 2 more will qualify and will update this post when they do. Please comment the codeforces handles of your university's team if you know them, and I'll add them to the list. :)

Edit: There are now 50 teams. I expect that there won't be any more.

The Universities of Alberta, Calgary, and Lethbridge would like to invite you to participate in the open division of the Alberta Collegiate Programming Contest 2023.

The contest starts on November 25 at 11:30am mountain time.

The contest link will be at acpc23.kattis.com. No registration is required for the open division; sometime before the contest starts, there will be a button on the kattis page to sign up. All you need is a kattis account.

The problems were prepared by charlie.x.3000, DanteB, Friggstad, Grayden Price, howard.cheng1, IanDeHaan, jzhe727, ngergel, Noah Weninger, spoonsplz, and yum.

The format for teams competing in person is a team-of-<=3 five-hour contest with one computer and no access to external materials other than a physical team reference document and language docs. While we encourage those participating in the open division to replicate these conditions as closely as possible (since this is what the contest was designed for), we recognize this may not be possible or wanted for some. Teams/individuals competing in open division are not bound by the same rules (i.e. one-pc, no online reference) as those competing in-person. Note that there are no prizes for the open division.

The difficulty of the contest will be comparable to some of the easier NA ICPC regionals such as rocky mountain regional. To get a better idea of the expected difficulty, you can view the problems from last year.

For updates and to chat with other participants, feel free to join the Alberta Competitive Programming discord server.

We hope you participate in and enjoy the contest :)

Most North America ICPC regionals have been held. While we don't yet know who is going to NAC, it's reasonable to guess that the slot distribution will be similar to last year. So here is a list of teams who qualified for NAC assuming the same distribution. Note that all regions are guaranteed at least 3 slots, and I would be relatively surprised if any region received less than 4.

Update: It looks like an official list has been posted here. I've updated the tables below in accordance, with the exception of Pacific Northwest, which has some irregularities.

Update 2: UC Davis now appears on the list, so everything seems normal now. 48 total teams invited.

Update 3: Stony Brook University and Northeastern University have been added to the list, for a total of 50 teams. I expect there will be no more additions beyond this.

If you know the codeforces handles of any team that is not yet filled in, please let me know so I can add them.

The Universities of Alberta, Calgary, and Lethbridge would like to invite you to participate in the open division of the Alberta Collegiate Programming Contest 2022.

The contest starts on November 26 at 11:30am mountain time.

The contest link will be at acpc22open.kattis.com. It currently returns a 404, but it will hopefully become active soon. When it is active, there will be a "Join the Contest" button or something similar that one can use to register.

The format for teams competing in person is a team-of-<=3 five-hour contest with one computer and no access to external materials other than a physical team reference document.

For updates and to chat with other participants, feel free to join the Alberta Competitive Programming discord server.

We hope you participate in and enjoy the contest :)

The response to this post used to say March 2022 but now says November 2022, updated on August 15.

Figured I'd share here as to my knowledge this has not been announced elsewhere.
