The perception among the top contestants is generally that using alts is not a bad thing, and I kind of agree with it (although Mike does not given that zh0ukangyang got banned, but that was probably a special case anyway, but I digress). It has a caveat though: You should never, and I repeat never, use two accounts in the same contest (obviously), which he has violated several times, and even worse than that, he has used two accounts in a contest with prizes, therefore effectively taking away one contestant's 2 TON.

Of course, you could argue: "Well 2 TON is chump change, who the hell cares?", and I agree yes, this sort of mindset does have a place in certain situations, but not in this one. Why? Well for starters zh0ukangyang got banned even though all he did was take 3000 measly internet points from other participants, so it stands to reason that a person who takes 2 TON should have some action taken against him. Also, without all of that stuff, like cheating = bad???? hello??? a person who cheats should not get away scot free, like that's what I believe, maybe other people might believe something different, but yknow I've spoken my piece I guess

It's kind of ambigious this time (clearly because 555 wasn't competing), because our commitee decided to choose the team with %20 National OI and %80 Team Selection Contest score for the first time this year. But CMS was incredibly bad on the first day of the National OI, and there were tons of people who suffered from not being able to get feedback and not being able to submit for long periods of time. (If you were lucky enough like me, you could also get the special treatment of "We're going to accidentally cut your Ethernet cable and stall you for the next 3 hours.") This %20 is going to be the deciding factor for the 4th member, and there are still no official results, so it's up to you to choose your 5th placer. You can look into the unofficial results from this sheet made by tolbi using all the AP Statistics knowledge we've acquired the previous week.

I believe that partaking in such an event before the competition might prepare you better for mishaps that might happen during the competition. You wouldn't want to get hit in the face while you're solving the final problem and not know how to recover properly. Remember, "everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth" — Mike Tyson.

Now, of course, getting hit in the face during the competition isn't likely, but I believe that training for such an occurrence is a more effective practice strategy than spamming out 1400-rated problems.

How on earth have so many people solved COUNTRBS? My solution is to notice that at most one good RBS starts at each position (namely, it ends at the next occurrence of the same prefix sum if all prefix sums in between are greater) and hash all O(n) substrings, but I think the observation part is too hard for most 5* coders.

In PRISON it should be made more clear what to output when there are no prisoners or guarenteed that there is at lease one prisoner. I chose some random negative values and got WA first.

Using alts is still cheating anyway, cos you're still taking some rating from other people. If you want to be against cheating, be against it fully.

As a tester I am afraid to say that I'm no longer a specialist to make this round special

If I may:
You're trying too hard. Seeing the difficulty of your solved problems, you're clearly doing fine, just, you're solving 1500/1600s when you should probably be focusing more on improving with 1300/1400s first.
Two things I'd suggest-
- Refer to this, (You can ignore the Topcoder section)
- Create virtual contests on vjudge consisting of 5-10 [Rating:Rating+300/400] questions and try to solve them in a window of 2-4 hours; this is similar to what's suggested for the 1900-2200 range in the blog above

Also, I saw that you're mostly upsolving the next-unsolved question from past contests, that's good. Keep it up 👍
In addition, once you hit Expert, consider building your own templates/referring to some standard ones, they do help (especially if you want to hit your target rating ASAP)
A couple for reference:
- Atcoder Library (Also, I highly recommend Atcoder Beginner Contests for learning, they're great)
- KACTL

As for hitting CM, can't comment as everyone's mileage varies, but seeing your practice, you should be hitting Expert soon, possibly by the end of this summer (even if not in rating, surely in skill level — confidently hitting Expert a few contests later)
Also, do read high rated contestants' code as that helps understand clearer alternatives for implementing ideas

It had been solved already by Heap_OverFlow, but comment got removed due to some reason? Possibly, Heap_OverFlow reported some cheater, who reported heap's comments.

The soln that heap said and worked with the OP had been

updating the C++ standard in VS Code to C++11 or later, where the initializer list is supported.

Modify tasks.json to include the -std=c++11 flag (or a later version like -std=c++14, -std=c++17, etc.) when compiling your code.

This code is not working for negative values

This problem is solvable in $$$\Theta(N)$$$ via a greedy algorithm.

I don't like the idea of counting a compilation error as a submission. Still its not that bad, but counting in the rule of 1 minute pause is too bad. It can be so frustrating sometimes.

I believe priority queue is better as it uses heap instead of a balanced BST, which makes it better in terms of time complexity(better as avl rotations have higher constant factor than extract max of heap) and space complexity(no need of pointer to left and right child as would have been needed in balanced tree for set).

I found the problem. It was on the 48-th line, because $$$j$$$ could be negative, which led to negative indexing.

as another participant I don't think this is a wise decision. If you don't attempt harder interactive problems you will not improve at them.
