Is there anyone who reached Candidate Master or higher rating...

Without preparing for any kind of Olympiad in his/her life.

People with higher rating give advice — keep practicing and your ratings will increase with time. But the same people with higher rating have prepared for various kinds of maths olympiads and thus are able to solve problems on codeforces very easily. So,

I Just want to know if reaching CM or higher is possible for lower mortals like me or we are just being gaslighted(unintentionally) by higher rated people.

actually there are many people who has reached CM+ without IOI / any type of olympiad background (Infact I won't be surpised if that number is >=60%).I never had any olympiad experience.And I am 100% sure I will reach CM+ very soon unless I die obviously.Also I believe I can be much higher rated even red (And I will do everything it takes just to prove that anyone can be red).Also there are many existent examples in CF who has already become red who never had any olympiad background.I grew in a small city in Bangladesh.From my childhood I have always heard that people coming from a very small city normally aren't able to achieve extra-ordinary things.I have heard them from my relatives, so called friends etc.People will laugh at you,say bad things about you,tell you imaginative, finally hate you.But I refuse to accept their opinions , their thought of reality where I cannot be extra-ordinary. That ability to refuse their thought on you and believe yourself is talent. If you have that talent you can go a long way despite all the odds.

    Looking at ur CF profile, it seems that u don't use CF as ur first coding-practice platform, where do u practice for CP and How have u reached Expert by solving so less problem in CF?

    Can't disagree any part of it, any kind of extra-curricular before university is frowned upon. The only goal is to make kids get the highest possible marks in exams and get into public universities. Nevertheless, a significant number of people stay jobless after graduation anyways. Also, people barely have heard the name of BdOI, the IOI selection competition of Bangladesh.

I'm not so good at maths, I don't really have any hopes at doing well in my country's Math Olympiads, so that's maybe why it took me a year and a half to finally get to CM when guys I know are getting to Master within 6 months :). Still, if you are decently smart and practise, then CM is definitely possible.

I prepared for math olympiads but it didn't help me very much as you can see (probably because I'm a noob at math olympiads as well despite doing them for like 4 years). Of course, there are a lot of people who reached CM / Master without ever doing math olympiads, like hariaakash646 and evenvalue (they're both very intelligent, but never did math olympiads), and I'm sure there are a few such GMs as well.

I failed in the very early qualifications of my country's OI. I started at 18. I'm not Chinese nor Russian. What else do you want lol ?

I don't quite understand. Isn't codeforces a competitive programming platform and isn't competitive programming a kind of Olympiad?

Currently, I do think my rating is low compared to my peers or even the ones who are one year old smaller than me (for example, the hyman00 above). And my rating comes from 74tractor and luck, I don't think it's my real performance. But I don't think that has something to do with MO.

I don't learn MO because I'm just not the type, and that's it.

MO should be banned from OI.

(UPD: That doesn't mean simple primary-school-level math problems.)

Are you tired of bullshit non-algorithm-required constructive problems? Please just together ask MO-type problems get out of OI. I am low-intelligent, and I'm having difficulty solving problems in OI, and you keep on giving me fucking MO problems to satisfy your strange desire to randomly distinguish contestants? Where is the heavenly principle?

I don't think one should train for MO to seek better results in OI. If you are talented (like my friend Rushroom) and interested in MO much more, just escape from OI and persist in MO instead. MO and OI are independent, but those who like giving shaber MO problems to OI are doomed to death.

I think the important thing is that you must solve a lot of problems. Solve problems a little bit above your current level. Also, you should do math problems. It's not because problems on Codeforces are "mathforces" problems, it's just because doing math problems is a great way to practice your problem-solving skills.

Personally, I only need 5 contests (div 2) to pass 1850 rating (I'm a secondary school student) without training for any Olympiad or being a Chinese student. Also, being a CM is usually not enough to become a member of my country's Olympiad team (My country's contestants in IOI are usually at least GM).

So about your question, I can confidently say that the answer is yes, of course. Solve a lot of problems, practice your problem-solving skill, and never give up, you'll reach CM one day

I've seen few people reached CM and even Orange IRL without IOI/IMO experience but they started CP at 14 or so.

and I've never heard about any red people (rating +2400) who haven't experienced IOI/IMO or similar intensive training at teens. in fact, most red people are IOI medalist

btw CM or higher is quite a large range. actually it's large as newbie to CM

I have never deliberately prepared for math olympiads, but I did participate in my country's OI before entering codeforces. Still, OI and Codeforces are almost the same thing so yes, CM+ is possible without math olympiad experience.
