I was pupil a couple of hours ago. Also, my friend was expert.

Now, I am newbie and he is specialist. What is happening?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one plausible way that I find is,

People below ur ranking cheated and they were regarded as disqualified from the contest, as a result total number of participants declined and thus, ur overall performance and rating both worsened (Ranking 5th among 1200 people is better than ranking 5th among 800 people)

    I don't think it's the case: after plag check I got -68 in CodeTon8, though previously I got -60. I checked and found out that only 70 people were skipped. Besides that, my place also improved. I don't think that 70 cheaters out of 11000+ people could affect rating that bad.

    It is plausible if the delta was decreased by max of 5 points. But 34 is INSANE!

    It looks as if " half of the participants were cheating ". Of course that's an extreme case and it is not possible in normal conditions.

    Also, if we assumed that that half of participants were cheating, the last div4 before the last one had nearly the same conditions. So, why this didn't happen at the time of roll back then.

      I think the reason for this is simple, i think by mistake, the rating for those who had cheated in the contest had not been deducted but there contest that was to not to be considered got deleted, this created a gap which caused all of ours rating changes i suppose... I have seen 3 people who got their rating increase despite being caught in the plag check, i think the ratings would be reverted back in a few time

It's written just on top of the site...

Rating changes for last rounds are temporarily rolled back. They will be returned soon.

The reason of this is that system need to recalculate the rating for some reason (as the simplest one — removing cheaters). Everything will be returned soon (for someone maybe with small difference)

    In my experience every time it happens, delta increases by +1 or a little above. But, this is the first time to decrease. Not by -1 (I wished). It decreased (for me) by -34 points!

    Also, for my expert friend (previously hh), it is his first time to encounter something like that.

My rating decreased by around 20 points. This is the first time rating got decreased during temporary roll back; it used to increase by 1 point before. Got something to do with last DIV 4 contest I believe.

    My rating also decreased by 10 points from previous rating. I don't know if there is some change in how they calculate change in ratings as negative delta in one of my contest became more and positive delta went down. Both contests I gave were div 2

        The problem is that: these reasons you are referring to

        • happened in this rollback
        • happened in the previous rollback
        • happened in the previous previous rollback

        So, why this time especially
        that huge decrease in rate happen?

          Maybe because there had also been a huge increase for some new accounts on their first 5 contests on last recalculation. I found those, JOO91, cazici, _HUECTRUM_, Skywave2025

          so if we think of a zero-sum game, if some users had great delta, unexplainable bumps on their first contests then must be compensated with a weird deduction on others.

i am here with almost -80 delta... ( I think the rating have been rolled back for more than 1 rounds and not just for the previous div-2 conducted by IIIT )

feeling very sad. Initailly they put me around ~1391 , then they rolled back soo much. anyone know the exact reason why such happenings ?
