Today, there will be three official Algorithm rounds at the TCO finals: both semifinal rounds and the wildcard round in the evening. The precise times when these rounds take place can be found in the schedule. (Coding actually begins 30 minutes after the indicated starting time.) For all three rounds there will be live coverage done by me (misof).

What is the best way to follow the action?

  1. Grab some snacks.

  2. Join us in the TopCoder arena and enter the room for the contest. Talk to me there if you have some questions or requests!

  3. Open the live coverage page for the live coverage.

See you there!

(P.S.: I will check the discussion here, but probably not during the rounds. If you have any quick questions, please msg me in the TC arena instead!)

Update: use the same link for finals!

So, did you follow the coverage? How did you like it? Any suggestions what can be improved in the future?

It was really good. It will be nice if you can provide the current standing occasionally.

      Thanks for the feedback :)

My assumption was that the current standings are visible in the arena, so there's no need to post them, but I see that if I were to post them it would make it enough to watch just the coverage.

Maybe the best solution for the next year would be to push TC to provide some API to view the current standings, and then it could be added automatically.

Well, as link for outside API (with more or less good sync) here is something like results translation at tco2014.snarknews.info here. Example of how it looks (for Semifinal 1) can be found here.

It was awesome. I really liked the spoiler prevention part where you to have highlight the text to read. So cool !!

What is the "Pickup Algorithm Competition"? How is it different from the "Algorithm" which has semifinal, wildcard, final round?

It's a series of random competitions for spectators. They're probably meant to promote the Algorithm track. There are prizes to be won, so TCO finalists are forbidden from participating, but supposedly the prizes are still taken by random reds that came to watch.

tourist won again(First ever TCO algorithm), completed his like tennis Grand slam in a year. Congratulation to him. Yandex champions, GCJ Champion, and Russian code Cup.

Psyho is not here but he is truly a champions in Marathon , consecutive win. Congrats to him even he is not in Codeforces.

Amazing things happen first champions from Africa, Topcoder F2F.

First ever female champions of design category.

BTW algorithm round was close, peter did not challenged anyone and tourist with his challenge take the huge lead. Egor finishes again third, was first to solved easy one(not for us!).

And about Petr he will give us view on his blog what happened on his 1000 one.
