What does the "*" mean in a contest's Standings?

I noticed in https://codeforces.com/contest/4/standings/page/27 that after #3692, the remaining contestants were not ranked, and have a star "*" to the left of their usernames. What does this mean?

  • +10
  • Vote: I do not like it

These are the users that submitted their solutions after the contest has ended i.e. in practice mode.

    Thank you for clarifying, I initially thought the standings would only include participants and virtual participants of the contest.

    Also, just out of curiosity, how did you come across this blog post? Was it through the tag? I’m not sure how to navigate through the blogs in Codeforces just yet.
