I think the order: Home, Top, Contests, Gym, Problemset, Groups, Rating, Catalog, Edu, API, Calendar, Help

would be more appropriate because of their functionalities. In my opinion, contests and problemset should be more in front because it's the main reason of the website and EDU and Catalog should be next to each other, due to their educational nature.

Another reason I am not very fond of the Catalog's position is because of muscle memory. Me and a lot of people I know keep on mis-clicking the Contests button because of it's previous position in the list.

A poll to see what the community thinks

I would like to see the Catalog's position changed

I like current Catalog's position

I don't care

I can identify as one of those people who miss-click the "contests" button.

I wonder why so few people use calender? Or do they all just keep silent? (Yeah, I remember complaints about streams addition, so calendar users exist)

Whenever I want to see upcoming contests, I open the calendar and examine it. It seems to me more useful — you can easily see the day of week (and the time), when it is planned to be held. They are the major factors I am interested in.

Just interested, why do you prefer contest tab? To be honest, when I started using CF, I could hardly find any place I can find upcoming contests. And accidentally, calendar was the choice I've stuck to. IMO, the usefulness of calendar and contests is roughly equal, so I am disappointed by your underestimation of the calendar.

UPD: I see jokes below about not knowing that calendar tab exists. I do know that many users use contest tab instead of calendar, but I am interested, why. Probably, there is such a great advantage that I should switch to the contests tab too! Btw, SlavicG answers is great, thanks!

I think it is just about preference. I like the look and feel of Contests section more and find it easier to navigate through and see all contests compared to Calendar, since it has the same information but in a more compact form. And also using the Contests tab you can register to contests which I don't know if it's possible to do using Calendar.

Personally, I never open the calendar tab. But I open the contest tab way too frequently.

I'd prefer Catalog in between Rating and Edu or at least after Problemset

I disagree with "EDU and Catalog should be next to each other" because Catalog is community-driven and EDU is quite limited (at least as of right now). If anything, I'd move the "Top" tab somewhere else, is there anyone that actually uses that?

I'd remove all buttons except "Rating" which is clearly the most important of them all.

I saw that for the first time(-_-) and found it very useful. I agree with you that the position should be changed like catalog and edu should be together as both are for knowledge purpose.

muscle memory+miss-clicking should not be a reason. People will eventually get used to it
